fun game, looks great too.
but the arrow keys to move also moves the browser window. if that can be fixed, it needs to be done asap.

additions to consider:
a title screen, a proper countdown to the start of the game, point counter, various things to collect that are worth more points but are there for a shorter amount of time, incremental difficulty increase to a cap so it doesn't become actually impossible. maybe mines could spawn along with the boxes for extra challenge and something else to avoid.

this is great work for your first game, keep at it

but you shoot so fast that there's almost no reason to move so there's no difficulty
you need to make more than this

really nice man
the pixel work is really nice, the parallax on the clouds in really good. controls work well, and platforms work properly. no jank corners, no bs hitboxes on enemies.
I'll say the music is fitting for the setting and intensity of the game, but it's still a little weak. not bad just weak if that makes sense.
all that said, it IS a bit basic so 3.5/5 for me. impressive work for your first game man.

I appreciate the honest words! I get that Newgrounds is a place where games meet more demand than mobile apps (what this game is originally) where the market is already filled with garbage. This is mainly a test for HTML5 creation and distribution and a good way to get more feedback.

I want to see a full game like this, or whatever a full game would mean with something like this, certainly something much longer.
I've never seen anything like this. if you can go hard on this, I think you'll reach baba is you levels. I'm serious, this is a crazy cool idea. Take a good long time (years? months bare minimum) and really make something out of this.

the sawblade you spawn... kills you? pretty sure that needs to be fixed. the grapple is under utilized if it only goes straight in front of you. every action seems to have this weird pause so everything feels clunky.
the art style and colors are pleasing though. the sawblade you have to use your imagination to see it that way but I can do it.
