listen man, you know I'm in your corner and don't want to discourage you. but that also means being honest when I need to be.
This is incomplete and has no way to win or any way to lose. clicking or holding click sends out some spell.... that's it? I don't get it and I'm generous.
make something more complete than this.

like I said, I have your back. but that also means calling actual bad things out. no way to lose, no way to win. the game is pointless as is. I'm sure you can improve on it in some way, but this is incomplete at best.

Not everything on this website is the best thing ever. This website has hosted thousands of shitty flash games and you complain about THIS!?!?! This is childish and stupid.

the pixel work is decent

but the "barking" (awful sfx... what were you thinking here, really) needs to be about 259 db quieter... and it needs to actually do something. I stand barking at the zombies and nothing happens. there's nothing else to do so I really dont get it.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t like it. If you bark at the last zombie (the lady in red) she drops a lighter, which you can use to ignite something. Again, sorry you didn’t like it.

fun game, looks great too.
but the arrow keys to move also moves the browser window. if that can be fixed, it needs to be done asap.

additions to consider:
a title screen, a proper countdown to the start of the game, point counter, various things to collect that are worth more points but are there for a shorter amount of time, incremental difficulty increase to a cap so it doesn't become actually impossible. maybe mines could spawn along with the boxes for extra challenge and something else to avoid.

this is great work for your first game, keep at it

the pixel work is really nice, the parallax on the clouds in really good. controls work well, and platforms work properly. no jank corners, no bs hitboxes on enemies.
I'll say the music is fitting for the setting and intensity of the game, but it's still a little weak. not bad just weak if that makes sense.
all that said, it IS a bit basic so 3.5/5 for me. impressive work for your first game man.

I appreciate the honest words! I get that Newgrounds is a place where games meet more demand than mobile apps (what this game is originally) where the market is already filled with garbage. This is mainly a test for HTML5 creation and distribution and a good way to get more feedback.

This is REALLY creative

I want to see a full game like this, or whatever a full game would mean with something like this, certainly something much longer.
I've never seen anything like this. if you can go hard on this, I think you'll reach baba is you levels. I'm serious, this is a crazy cool idea. Take a good long time (years? months bare minimum) and really make something out of this.

the art is good, the window is a bit small but zooming in on the webpage works for it.
the thing is, I upgrade the sword but it doesn't feel different.
I don't understand what "rank" is as it also doesn't seem to do anything.

OK, thanks. The window is small because the game was designed more for phones. It's strange that the sword upgrade didn't work for you. The rank display itself was not aimed at anything, it simply showed experience and rank. In general, the rank is used in the code to change the location, increase money, enemies' lives, prices. Thank you for your support, I will definitely take into account my shortcomings.

all of the icons are cutoff so you can barely click on them. the reason it feels so weird is when you click on the tower to select it, you think you're going to drag it but the menu just goes back down.

what you made it do is you click and hold then drag the tower to the place you want. this is unintuitive. you want to have it so you click and can release the click and it will still drag the tower out.

the game is ok but needs ironing out. also the random envelops cascading on the title screen makes the whole page lag, not just the game. tone the amount of sprites on that part to make it less lag inducing.

Thanks for the review ! We were trying to find a way to make the dragging part more obvious and I think yours is pretty great, so I’ll try to add it when I update the game. The main menu wasn’t laggy when I tried it so I didn’t realize the envelopes were causing lag, but I can definitely tone down the amount. I don’t really understand what you mean by the icons are cut off… do they not fit entirely on the screen? I might have messed up something with the resolution of the game. Thanks again for the review !

but please, for the love of hearing and eardrums, change the sound effect for typing. it's only in the left ear and it actually hurts it. like, I can feel the sound it makes. just listen to it once and you'll understand.
am I not joking at all, my left ear actually hurts really bad now. I only did 10 letters.
playing it more, it's not really your fault, but the nature of the game makes it extremely easy unless the word has 2 of the same letter. not sure what the solution is tbh
